Proposing marine research on antibiotics

At the request of the University of Gothenburg (GU), the University of Copenhagen (KU), the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Gdansk University of Technology (GUT), and Umeå University (UMU), we helped with the phrasing of a comprehensive proposal to study contamination of the Baltic Sea with antibiotic residues.

The interdisciplinary BSResist project was designed to help countries surrounding the Baltic Sea to assess and mitigate the risks of antibiotic resistance in coastal waters. It would identify key contamination sources and study the spread and impact of resistance genes and resistant bacteria.
