Editing a sensitive high-level science policy report

We assisted the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) in editing and drafting a final assessment of the future need for animal experimentation in basic neuroscientific research.

The report was a key contribution of the Academy to an important and sensitive area of national science policy. It had been requested by the ministries of Agriculture, Nature and Food quality (LNV) and Education, Culture and Sciences (OCW) of the Dutch government.

We worked with top-level scientists knowledgeable about this complex issue and helped the Academy reach a consensus based on a thorough problem analysis and on projections grounded in a solid understanding of present and future questions and challenges for fundamental neuroscientific research.
