Making palm oil more sustainable

In close collaboration with colleagues at Schuttelaar & partners we assisted the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), a global multistakeholder organization based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to communicate with members and potential members in Europe and the United States of America.

As part of the project, we helped develop, design, select and trademark the logo that identifies RSPO-certified palm oil products in markets worldwide.

We provided comprehensive support to the RSPO Working Group on Communication. The work included supporting meetings and creating presentations that members of the working group could use; creating a website and frequent newsletters specifically tailored to the needs of companies using palm oil in both the EU and the US.

We helped existing and new members navigate the various requirements for making RSPO-related claims on their product packagings.

We assisted RSPO in responding quickly and effectively to events such as unexpected media exposure by producing draft statements and press releases. We managed media communications at a Roundtable conference with over 600 participants in Jakarta, Indonesia, which included creating and distributing press releases and press kits and managing daily press conferences and briefings.

Through our work, we helped the RSPO communicate about their progress and their growing impact on the global palm oil market to stakeholders, news media and the general public, and grow its membership base.
