Reducing antibiotics use in Vietnam

We helped the University of Copenhagen (Kobenhavns Universitet, KU) phrase first-stage and second-stage proposals for the funding of a research and international development project in Vietnam.

In the project, which was awarded 10 million DKK by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), stakeholders from Vietnam and Denmark worked together to better understand how much and why pig farmers in Vietnam are using antibiotics, and how unnecessary use of antibiotics can best be reduced.

The project has helped Vietnam prevent and fight potential human health issues related to antibiotics resistance that are caused by antibiotic residues and the spread of resistance genes.
